Amanda Berends is Of Counsel at SK&S Law Group, where she advises clients on general business and employment issues, healthcare regulations, provider relations, privacy compliance, intellectual property management, policy drafting, and commercial contracting.  Amanda’s practice involves advising businesses on specific issues and serving as part-time outside general counsel to provide a more comprehensive approach when needed. 

Amanda specializes in working with businesses to drive initiatives forward compliantly.  Known for her strong business acumen and pro-business, pragmatic approach, Amanda regularly develops innovative solutions that mitigate risk while partnering to help achieve key business goals.   

Amanda has spent more than a decade working in-house for healthcare companies, where she has supported businesses of various sizes on matters raised by every department.  Her favorite projects include establishing processes that allow businesses to streamline legal compliance. She has a deep knowledge of federal and state healthcare and privacy regulations, including HIPAA, Stark, the Anti-Kickback Statute, as well as state consumer and consumer health privacy laws.

In her free time, Amanda enjoys playing board games with her husband and two boys, trail running, and swimming.
